Chocolate Strawberry Tart

 

If you want to make something easy and delicious for Christmas Day I couldn’t recommend this tart enough…All ingredients are Gluten & Dairy free and paired with juicy red strawberries and a chocolate walnut crust, I promise this recipe will not disappoint!

Ingredients ~

Crust

1 1/2 cups of raw walnuts

1/3 cup raw cacao powder (unsweetened)

1 large cup of pitted dates ( soaked in warm water for 10 mins and drained )

Choc filling

1 block of dark chocolate

1 can of coconut cream

1 large punnet of strawberries

Method ~

1. Pulse walnuts & cocoa power together in a food processor until it becomes a fine meal.

2. Place soaked dates in food processor and blend till you have a sticky paste. Add walnut- cocoa meal and process until combined together.

3. Lightly oil a pie / tart dish with coconut oil place crust ingredients evenly pressing into bottom and sides.

4. Melt the chocolate by placing into a bowl on top of a pan of boiling water stirring often until melted.

5. Add melted chocolate, coconut cream, almond butter and orange zest & juice to blender. Blend until smooth & creamy.

6. Pour filling into crust filling to the top.

7. Place in freezer for 2-3 hours to set.

8. Take out of freezer 30-40 mins before serving to soften.

9. You can freeze for up to 3 days but take out 1- 2 hours before so you get the creamy texture when ready to eat.
